Deep Fried Heron legs is The Velvet Shadow’s move to more dancefloor orientated works. Previous singles hinted at IDM of old, mixed with techno and ambient influences. Deep Fried Heron Legs sees a subtle move away from the IDM and towards the darker side of techno and electronica.
The leatest release is a downbeat, techno track infused with bubbling basslines and white noise percussion. Modular synths add warmth and sonic character to a chugging groove. The rhythm suits the dancefloor as much as listening at home. You can hear the signature sound of expansive atmospheres in the music, evoking dystopian futures and bleak worlds.
